Art Manke
Art Manke’s long collaboration with playwright, Amy Freed, includes directing the premieres of her "SHREW!" and "The Monster Builder." His work has been seen at South Coast Repertory, Pasadena Playhouse, Denver Center Theatre Company, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Mark Taper Forum, American Conservatory Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, California Shakespeare Theatre and Santa Cruz Shakespeare among others.As a Co-Founding Artistic Director of A Noise Within, Manke oversaw more than fifty productions during the first ten seasons (1991-2001). He is a frequent guest at conservatories throughout the country, has directed for television, and is the author of a stage adaptation of D.H. Lawrence’s "Women in Love," written with Douglas Langworthy, and a new comedy, "Art Attack." A five-time winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, Manke holds an M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theatre and currently teaches at the Stella Adler Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles.
