about the cast

Emily Cagan

Emily Cagan was destined to work in the family business, which is the business of music and entertainment. Her entire family was involved in the industry in some way. Her father, Steven, was a composer/arranger/conductor/music director/ad jingle composer and one-time film composer’s agent. Her mother, Claudia, is a 7X Emmy®-winning Talent Producer, most recently at “Entertainment Tonight” and both incarnations of “The Arsenio Hall Show” (amongst many other outstanding credits), and her aunt is the Grammy®-winning singer Melissa Manchester.

After living the career of her dreams in the music business working with some of the greatest artists of all-time, including Black Sabbath, James Taylor, INXS, The Cure, Elton John, Bon Jovi, and Def Leppard, among countless others, with long stints at Rhino Entertainment (where she started as an Intern and worked up the ranks to Senior Product Manager) and Universal Music Enterprises, the business had shifted and so it was time to start a new adventure. With all her own years of artist relations experience and developing relationships throughout the entertainment world, she began her journey in the world of Talent Booking/Producing.

She was a Talent Coordinator for Claudia when she had her own independent booking projects, including the digital series “CRASHED,” “UNICHEF,” and “ROBIN WILLIAMS REMEMBERED” (which still runs regularly on PBS). She ventured into television production working as an Associate Producer on the original pilot for what would become the successful reboot of “NAME THAT TUNE,” Associate Producer/Talent Booker on the daytime syndicated series “ME TIME WITH FRANGELA” (booking and coordinating spots on 150 episodes in 3 months!), and Talent Coordinator on Season 3 of “MARTHA & SNOOP’S POTLUCK PARTY CHALLENGE.”
Again, the business changed, yet again, and podcasts were starting to become the next big thing. It was a good time to dive right in and she was hired as the Talent Booker for AUDIO UP’s various podcasts, including “THE DENNISSANCE” (hosted by Dennis Quaid), “THE PET SHOW,” “EVER AFTER WITH JALEEL WHITE,” “MEA CULPA WITH MICHAEL COHEN,” and “RADICAL MUSINGS WITH ROSANNA ARQUETTE.” During that time, her successful relationship with NEXT CHAPTER PODCASTS began and she has booked talent for “THE 500 WITH JOSH ADAM MEYERS” (starting in 2020 and will, if the fates allow, wrap in 2028 counting down Rolling Stone’s list of The Greatest Albums of All-Time), “THE TEN NEWS,” “SCOPOPHILIA, “HOW I GOT GREENLIT,” “REIMAGINING US,” and the Anthem Award-winning “OUR NEW SOUTH.” She also had a successful run with acclaimed actor Sean Hayes’ company HAZY MILLS PRODUCTIONS, booking guests for their “HYPOCHONDRIACTOR WITH SEAN HAYES” and “THE RANDY RAINBOW PODCAST.” Most recently, she has been working back in her music roots with the #1 Apple Music Podcast “TAKIN’ A WALK: MUSIC HISTORY ON FOOT” with BUZZ KNIGHT MEDIA PRODUCTIONS.
In the simplest terms, her lifelong love of music and entertainment that had shaped her, both as a person and as a careerwoman, has come full circle and she truly was living her dream. She still does.
