Michael Luwoye played the titular role in the world premiere musical, MANDELA (West End). He most recently played a starring role in the world premiere of EMPIRE RECORDS at the McCarter Theater for director Trip Cullman. Michael Luwoye plays a leading role in Antoine Fuqua’s feature, EMANCIPATION, opposite Will Smith. He is also well known for playing the title role in HAMILTON  on Broadway. Luwoye’s Series Regular credits includes WACO: THE AFTERMATH, now airing on Showtime, and BLUFF CITY LAW, opposite Jimmy Smits (NBC). Recurring roles include THE MAGICIANS (SyFy),  Spike Lee’s SHE’S GOTTA HAVE IT (Netflix) and THE GIFTED (FOX). Other television credits include PRODIGAL SON for (FOX) and THE GILDED AGE FOR (HBO).
