Victor Malana Maog

Victor Malana Maog is a respected theater director, educator and arts leader with over twenty-five years experience directing projects, programs, and companies that boldly meet at the intersections of world-class art-making, poular culture, and forward-thinking community engagement.

He's directed and developed works at American Conservatory Theater, Public Theater, National Black Theatre, Magic Theatre, Hartford Stage, Intar, Folger Theater, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Signature Theatre Company, Mabou Mines, Marriott Theatre, Working Theatre, York Theatre, Druvy Lane, Cal Shakes, New Dramatists and The Lark. Earlier in his career he had the privilage of working under directors Mark Lamos, Bill Rauch, Susan H. Shulman, Ted Sperling, Peter Dubois and Mary Zimmerman. From 2016-18 he served as Show Director for Disney Parks Live Entertainment creating and directing stage shows, large scale events and spetaculars for millions of visitors. 

Victor is also a much respected artist/educator who's worked at schools such as NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, NYU/Program in Educational Theater, Yale School of Drama, Brown/Trinity, University of Pennsylvania, Fordham University and organizations including the American Theatre Wing, Theatre Development Fund, Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival, Roundabout and the Manhattan Theatre Club. Maog served five summer seasons as Director of Theater at Perry-Mansfield in Steamboat Springs, CO - the oldest such program in the country. There he created the Orginal Works Initiative, leading to several world premiers and publications, and the P-M Winter Intensive at Juilliard.
In 2022, he was appointed Professor of Performing Arts at svannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in their BFA/MFA program.

Victor Malana Maog was born in the Philippines, raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. and is a graduate of New York University's Gallatin School with a concentration in Global Leadership and Performance Studies.
